Amanda Jackson’s first solo art exhibition, Home, a collection of paintings by The Moonlightin Artist.

I am the product of the statement “it takes a village,” and my village’s roots runs deep.

For as long as I can remember Childersburg, AL specifically my Granny’s house has always been home to my siblings and I. With both my parents off in the military, I spent the first 10yrs of my life being raised by my Auntie in this small town that we called home. Being born into a family as large as my own meant we never went a day without company, and having more than 20+ cousins all close in age meant there was never a lack of friends and entertainment. Not to mention the land in Alabama stretches for miles which gave the spirited and wild child like myself ample room to roam freely and uninhibited.

Those times are some of the most memorable times of my life, and you will find subtle hints of my childhood and my family in so much of my art today. 

This solo art show has been a long time coming. My family has done so much and has always supported me. I carry them wherever I go, but it’s nice to finally be coming home!
